Day by day program outline
Arrival at your accommodation in Bitti during the morning. After meeting Gaveena's local fellows, enjoy a walk in Bitti, the mountain village where Tenore singing was born; this unique polyphonic chorus singing has recently been appointed by Unesco as heritage of humanity. Enjoy the quiet atmosphere with a stroll between narrow streets and tiny local museums, with special attention to exhibition dedicated to Tenores. Then make a jump back in the history by stepping into Romanzesu, the widest spiritual nuragic village discovered so far, dated 13 centuries b.C and covering an area of over 7 hectares (total duration 3 hours). Evening at leisure and overnight.
Get your legs ready for a hiking day amongst rich nature and stunning landscape at Tepilora canyon. All your senses will be duly shaken during a dive in this unique area, where mediterranean and mountain nature meet generating an amazing environment. Here Gaveena's local folks will introduce you to herbs browsing, an antique sardinian tradition aimed to collect natural ingredients for our delicious recipes but also to exploit them as complementary medicine. Of course your dive in the nature cannot be fully pleasant without some energy, that's why a typical sardinian picnic lunch will recharge you with tasty ham, sausage, cheese and other local specialties (total duration 6 hours).
Back at your hotel, it's time to use the herbs collected during the day; the expertise of a local cook will show you how to get the best from these genuine ingredients and how to mix them in the most popular sardinian recipes… so let your tastebuds be tickled by unique flavours. Overnight.
During the morning it's time for another step back in time while visiting the important archaeological site at Voes nuraghe; this prehistorical structure was originally composed by three towers and surrounded by a human settlement during bronze age.
Your journey in Sardinian tradition will then continue in Nule, the village famous for its carpets and uniquely-textured craft products, made following antique techniques. And then you'll finally step in a local farm, the magic place where most of mouth watering sardinian food comes from; your wise and smily hosts will introduce you to shepherd's life and of course invite you to taste the result of their daily hard work (duration 3/4 hours). Rest of the day at leisure and overnight.
