Mountain junkies who wish to do some seriuos walking in breathtaking landscape: these are the people we thought about when studying this program.
Naturally we decided to captivate you with some tasty foodie experiences and surprisingly cool villages as well.
Tiscali is surely a globally known IT company, but not so many people know that it was born in Sardinia and its name is inspired by a bronze age prehistorical village hidden in Gennargentu mountains in the heart of the island. Mistery, energy and history surround this site discovered a century ago and reachable by feet only through spectacular landscapes.
And most likely you’ll be surprised by having the chance to walk in Gorropu canyon, one of Europe’s deepest gorges with its 500 m steep walls. But this area has more surprises to offer such as the murals at Orgosolo, over 100 colourful wall paintings inspired by historical events, politics, everyday life and local culture.
You will also be in touch with carnival traditions at Mamoiada where the iconic mask of Mamuthones was born and where the best sardinian red wine Cannonau has been produced for centuries.
Trekking excursions require a reasonable level of fitness, a previous experience in mountain walking and trekking shoes; the program is not suitable for children.
